Is one allowed to shop (even when one is on a self-mandated shopping-hiatus) when every single pair of one's pants is at least 2 sizes too big - resulting in a rather unstylish I'm-wearing-my-older-sister's-clothing-even-though-I-don't-have-an-older-sister kind of look?

yes! You deserve at least 1 pair of pants that fit, definitely, I might even say 2 pairs.
YES. YOU MUST SHOP. wearing clothes that don't fit is uber-depressing.
