I love the idea of having all of your kitchen necessities out in the open - not only is everything easy access, but it also functions as automatic decoration.
Saw you on Chuck Westbrook's blog but I came over from Zoe Westhof's where you commented. I have dreamed many days with "kitchen envy" on my mind. If I were to have all my kitchen stuff, would not be nearly as coordinated as your pictures. So I throw the ratty stained potholders in drawers with the mismatched spice jars. You can envy me, instead for the empty counters to cook on.
One problem with having everything "out in the open" in the kitchen is that it collects dust (and sometimes grease, if it's too near the stove). Works well for things you use and wash often; cabinets and drawers are better for things you use only occasionally -- keeps things cleaner. Just my humble opinion, of course.

and yet so very right. Sometimes "clutter" can be beautifully artistic. :)
Just arrived from Chuck Westbrook's recommendation, looking forward to exploring your blog.
Hi Kathy,
I just arrived from Chuck Westbrook's blog. Nice kitchen!
I'm all for pops of red so I like the top photo, for sure:)

The photo, though, is lovely.
