City Hall

I adore these photos from a simple San Francisco city hall wedding.  Everything is completely classy and overwhelmingly simple.  A lot to be said for that.  (I do NOT understand the whole huge-wedding-spend-a-lot-of-money hooplah.)  Have you, or would you, consider getting married at City Hall?

I feel a little voyeuristic, but my heart is rejoicing right now! I guess that the nature of online life these days. I was about to drop a line and say I agree about the hoopla surrounding wedding these days. When I scroll down, and see jareds response - well I guess Kathy will let us know whats up - but my hearts sings for you both. Anyhow, while important to mark the special day, to go in debt or spend rediculous amounts is all marketing hype if you ask me. So many miss out on a honeymoon based on the 'fairytale wedding day' DO NOT miss out on a honeymoon - it could be anywhere/anyhow - but TAKE it! Before I ramble on too much on the subject, take it from one married 25years, its the commitment thats important. Best!!!!!

I was at San Francisco City Hall for the very first batch of gay marriages. I was there to support my girlfriend and her wife getting legally married. It was really amazing. All three of us camped out overnight in the rain so as not to lose our place in line. Random people from the city dropped by to offer support and donuts. (:

I got married at City Hall in Manhattan...and then again at a Church in San Fran with a reception in Sonoma. And I can say that both were equally lovely in their own really special ways. But I will also say that I LOVED wearing my perfect white dress the second time around!

trina, you are too sweet :) thank you for your kind words. but i do not have anything marriage-related to report at this time :) jared and i HAVE been together for a long time (over 5 years!) and it's in the plan... but not quite yet.

anonymous, who are you!?!?!?

pace - that must have been a very cool experience!

city sage - sounds fabulous! why did you choose to do it twice? did you have different family in different places etc.? Just curious :)
