When it snows, ain't it thrillin

Hooray for the first significant snow of the year!  I adore snow.  It always makes me embarrassingly I-am-a-five-year-old-at-heart excited.  And yesterday's snow was so soft and mellow and pretty...  Sigh.

And here are those damned disgusting vermin that inhabit our neighborhood our little deer friends.  When it snows the poor little suckers have to work very hard for their food - aka - make a big dirty mess and paw at the beautiful pristine whiteness to get at the grass so they don't starve.  This used to make me very upset when I was younger (and, um, maaayyybe it still does).  I despise looking out into the yard and seeing huge exposed grassy patches where the deer have marred my scenic winter view.

Perhaps I should send these little white-tailed darlings his way....

You're not the only one who dislikes the deer. My dad calls them "rats on stilts" -- he can't grow a garden or even keep any of the apples on his apple trees because the deer eat all of them. They also have deer ticks, which carry lyme disease, and so they really are a bit of a public health risk. I still think they're beautiful, but I wouldn't want them in my yard, either.
